HTIA Statement on Nomination of Kathi Vidal for Director of U.S. Patent & Trademark Office Director

WASHINGTON Dave Jones, executive director of the High Tech Inventors Alliance (HTIA), today issued the following statement upon the nomination of Kathi Vidal for the role of Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office:

“We congratulate Kathi Vidal on her nomination to serve as our next PTO Director. This role has enormous influence over American businesses in ensuring that our patent system protects American innovation. HTIA and its members look forward to working with her to ensure a strong patent system, to improve patent quality and to restore rigorous post-issuance review of patents, including by ending so-called ‘discretionary denials.' We urge Congress to move forward quickly to consider her nomination.”
